This high-specification headquarters interior is situated over three floors of a new office building, accommodating workspace for ten staff and providing a backdrop for an exhibition of architectural photography showcasing the client's worldwide property portfolio.
The design creates a working environment that combines the quality of light found in an art gallery with the spaciousness of a lounge. Within the very narrow elongated floors, the project's principal intervention is the sculptural staircase that scissors back-and-forth through a triple height cut-out between the floors to link all levels. The staircase creates efficient circulation solution and provides a different focal point to each level with opportunity for chance encounters and communication. Every piece of furniture within the office is designed by Carmody Groarke to the bespoke requirements of the client.
